Hello and welcome to our family blog. I’m just learning the blogging ropes so bear with me. I was hoping to start the weekly blog when Jasmine was born, so I am only eight months behind. Jasmine has started to say a few words, mostly ma, ba, pa. At times we think she is saying ma to me but it is still hard to tell. We bought her this toy she can sit in front of that sings and talks in response to her sounds/yells and it seems to have taught her a lot of these first words. She scoots around the floor on her back, but refuses to crawl. We have tried a few silly tricks like holding her legs together and using a towel to hold up her belly. She does get into the crawl position but will flop back on her belly after about 30 seconds. She loves to stand with help and may just skip crawling and go straight to walking. At her six month check-up she weighed almost 19 lbs and was almost 28 inches. When she sees her milk she either gets a huge smile or starts whimpering in anticipation. She is enjoying solids as well and seems to like table food more than baby food. Jasmine was a beautiful lady bug for Halloween. She was such a good sport and stayed in her costume 99% of the day. She went trick or treating with her brother for 10 minutes then handed out candy with daddy. Kadin recycled his dress-up clothes/costumes which worked perfectly because half of the day he was Spiderman and the other half Batman. He was class leader on Halloween and got to take his Great Grandma to school. He is enjoying the 5’s class at preschool. Even though he is excelling in letters, numbers, and reading rhyming books we are happy we waited a year for Kindergarden due to his energy level. At home we are not only working on learning exercises but also on focusing and applying himself. Kadin is really enjoying his friends. At times he tries to inform us what time we need to be home, eat dinner, etc depending on when his friends are available to play. Not! I started back to work. Yikes . . . lets just say eight months is a long time to be away. It’s nice to be back for a few shifts a month, but I definitely feel like my place is with Kadin and Jasmine. Jason is working as usual. Oh yeah, and digging holes for mounting his Direct TV dish. It takes a lot of work to get HDTV. Thanks for reading and I promise the next entry will be a fourth of this size. Kristi
