Happy Birthday Mom (July 11th)!!

To celebrate my mom’s birthday, we all went camping this weekend. We went to Black Hallow Lake, which is to the north of Windsor. We rode our four-wheelers. Kadin took a spill while out riding with daddy and poppy. Jasmine loves the four-wheelers. She gets so excited when she hears them running and tries to climb up for a ride.

Jasmine, Kadin, my mom, and I went to the Denver Zoo today. The kids enjoyed seeing all the animals. Jasmine loved the aquariums with all the fish. Kadinwas interested in seeing the bears and lyons. Kadin has two drinking bottles, one in the shape of a lion and the other a seal, he has gotten the last two years at the zoo, and today Jasmine got hers. She was so excited she wouldn’t let it go all day. She drank two “giraffes” full of lemonade.

Our family took advantage of a beautiful summer day in the Colorado Rockies. We went hiking in the Rocky Mountain National Forest. The mosquitos were terrible, and since Jasmine is a mosquito magnet and her skin swells to the size of a dime with each bite, we didn’t hike the entire trail. We had lunch at our favorite little place down by the lake right across from the swim beach. They have the best hamburgers and hot dogs! Then we rented a pontoon boat and enjoyed sightseeing around Grand Lake from the water.

The kids, my mom, and I stopped to get a shaved ice for an afternoon treat. We ordered three different flavors and all shared - cherry coke, sour apple, and pink lemonade. While enjoying a bite of sour apple, Kadin accidently flung the shaved ice and it landed right in my mom’s face. We laughed so hard!

Back from beautiful Hilton Head, South Carolina. Thanks to Grandma Carolyn and Grandpa Bill for their hospitality. Kadin looks forward to our annual trip to HH, often asking months in advance when we will be going. This year was no different, and I don’t think it will be long before Jasmine is doing the same. Kadin not only spent time playing at the beach and in the swimming pool, he also went to a live alligator show with his dad that Grandma Carolyn arranged. He refused to hold the alligator for a picture but was willing to take a picture with it if someone else held it. Grandpa Bill also took him to his favorite restaurant where they prepare your food in front of you while doing tricks - hibachi grill. Jasmine played at the beach for hours. At just 15 months old we can tell she is already going to love the beach. She would sit in her daddy’s lap and giggle each time a wave would splash into her.
